Pianist

Howard has worked extensively as a composer and pianist for television commercials, feature films, variety shows, T.V. series and record albums in Los Angeles and Chicago. Some of the more “high-profile” performers Howard has worked with are Patti LaBelle, ,Take 6, Aretha Franklin, Johnny Cash, Jim Brickman, B.B. King, Cheryl Crow, Marie Osmond, and Buster Pointdexter. Howard was also the singing voice of Alvin on more than 200 songs for the Alvin and the Chipmunks 1980’s television series as well as several records.

Sam CernigliaSam Cerniglia
Vocalist

Sam Cerniglia began singing at a young age. He studied classically with Carlos Seise all four years of his high school career. He went on to study Vocal Performance at Central Michigan University for two years and finished his bachelors of music at Columbia College Chicago, where his focus shifted from opera to contemporary, urban, and popular music.

His performance experiences range from 200 member collegiate choruses to ensembles performing genres such as: blues, R&B, Pop, Jazz, as well as original music, etc…

Sam has had the privilege of working with artists such as: Lonnie Brooks, Ivan Neville, Joan Osborne, Koko Taylor, Paquito D’Rivera, and more.

Presently, he is energetically preparing his first original band-a five-piece group consisting of Vocals, Piano, Guitar, Bass, and Drums. He is anxious to share his soul and make a musical family here in Chicago.

Patti Pereyra
Vocalist

Patti began performing at the age of 14 in musical theatre. With lead roles in professionally produced shows like Cabaret, Baby, Nunsense and Nunsense II, Leader of the Pack, Three Penny Opera, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat, “A” My Name is Alice, Three Postcards, and Six Women with Brain Death, and an award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical under her belt, Patti decided to expand her musical horizons and formed her own original music band.

With her band she played the club scene for several years, was featured live on Chicago radio station, “The Bear” as an “up and coming band”, and recorded an original album, which sold at Borders.

Patti also fronted top 40 band, DVS, with which she toured the Pacific Northwest for over a year, and performed many lives shows with Chicago’s premier disco show band, The Love Bite Orchestra.

A member of SAG/AFTRA, Patti starred in and provided several character voices for the Wee Sing children’s video series, and has recorded radio commercials.



Kimberly SuttonKimberly Sutton
Cellist

Kimberly Sutton (Cello) is from Detroit, Mi. She attended the University of Chicago where she studies Political Science and Music. Kimberly has been playing for fifteen years, previously with the University of Chicago Orchestra and Vivace String Quartet. She currently studies with Nick Photinos of eighth black bird. Outside the classical sphere, Kimberly arranges, composes and performs folk songs on cello and banjo with the band Ragged Claws. She is involved in recording projects throughout Chicago and the Midwest, most recently to benefit the students of the Holy Trinity School of Music and Ecole de Musique Dessaix-Baptiste in Haiti, where she teaches at a summer music program. She also hosts a radio show on WHPK 88.5 fm, and teaches lessons at Joan's Studio for the Performing Arts. She pursues an avid interest in the relations of folk/popular musics to classical music in performance practices, education, and issues of race, gender and class.

Emi TanabeEmi Tanabe
Violinist

Emi Tanabe began studying the violin at the age of three. She attended Eastman School of Music, University of North Texas and Roosevelt University earning Bachelor of Music, Masters of Music and Orchestral Diploma degree.

Her orchestral experience includes Apollo's Fire (Cleveland Baroque Orchestra), Chicago Civic Orchestra, Richardson Symphony, Atlanta Baroque Orchestra, etc.

Ms. Tanabe played for a motion picture soundtrack produced by the film academy of Prague, and was a studio musician for Rosehip records and HiZ production. She also was a guest violinist for the Irish Choir "ANUNA" for their 2007 U.S. tour and their PBS program "Christmas Memories" in 2008.

Currently, she is active with a string quartet, Jazz duo, solo performance with a loop pedal and playing with various orchestras throughout the country.

Ryan BennettRyan Bennett
Drummer / Percussionist

Ryan Bennett is an active drummer, percussionist, and teacher in the Chicago area. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City with a degree in percussion. Ryan is an experienced performer in a variety of styles of music. Most recently, he performed with the Chicago Company of the hit Broadway show Jersey Boys from 2008-2010. Other performances of note have been with Tori Amos, trumpeter Randy Brecker, and guitarist John Abercombie. He also has performed at a number of events and venues in Chicago including the Chicago Jazz Festival, Broadway In Chicago's Taste of Chicago Showcase, The Jazz Showcase, the Green Mill, and the House of Blues to name a few.

Ryan is an active teacher and clinician in the Chicago area and has given clinics and master classes throughout the U.S. and in Europe. He is also a published author and writes product reviews for Downbeat Magazine.

Locally Ryan enjoys playing in a jazz piano trio led by his wife Jo Ann Daugherty at Bandera, a restaurant on Michigan Avenue's "Magnificent Mile", where they have performed together twice a week for over 8 years.

John ElmquistJohn Elmquist
Bass

John Elmquist (bass) is a multi-talented performer and composer. He serves on the Piano faculty at the Chicago High School for the Arts (ChiArts) and the Theory/Composition faculty of the Merit School of Music. He is also the music director at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Chicago. The bulk of his creative work is with his HardArt groop (hardartgroop.com), an ensemble he established to perform his music. In 2007 he received an Individual Artist Grant from the Illinois Arts Council.
